“ Tony Loco's 01/31 We found Tony Loco's about ten min east of Mt. Airy in the SE corner of the Lisbon Shopping Center, off MD-94 Woodbine Rd at Old Frederick Rd, just a minute north of I-70. There's lots of parking right out front. The place has a smoky rustic atmosphere, with a restaurant side full of booths, and a sports-themed bar area with lots more seating. The high-tops by the bar were pretty busy on a Friday midafternoon, and service was quick and attentive. We skipped past the wide variety of regular American foods and went with a number of their Latin specialties: a large super-tender traditional "pernil" pork pressed-sandwich with garlic mayo, melty provolone, lettuce, tomato, and piping hot crispy fries, generous richly-flavored rice-&-black-beans, soft lightly-fried sweet plantains (platanos maduros, kind of like bananas), and harder-fried tostones (platanos verdes) with a tangy dipping sauce. They hit all the flavors we love! We have to return to try so much more from their extensive food and drink and draft-beer menus. And their almost-daily specials! And Friday night live music and many events! This is a gem of a restaurant, a huge variety of American and Latin food and drink. A very nice surprise on the western edge of Howard County. ”

“ Another fabulous meal at this fun restaurant! I had the cod tacos, and my friend had the 1 pound shrimp. We shared chips and salsa, and the salsa was very spicy and delicious! We were there to celebrate a birthday and our server, Grace, was so attentive and fun without being annoying or intrusive. The restaurant has a bar side is where we sat. There is a bank of TVs with sports on, but it was not overpoweringly loud. Because we were celebrating a birthday, we shared a cheesecake dessert which was so decadent and delicious! And, it was a gift from the manager, which was such a nice touch! We did not tell them that we were there to celebrate a birthday, they just noticed the gift bag and card. What a great place! As a bonus, there is ample well-lit parking. ”

“ I've been here a few times now and it's been great every time. Fun atmosphere (the murals are super cool), a creative menu, tons of drink options, daily specials, reasonable prices, and good service. Also, the portions are pretty dang large. There's even karaoke and live music most weekends! If you're a local you should definitely check it out. ”

“ I came on a Saturday night to watch the band. The band was entertaining and the staff were constantly moving, making sure that everyone was taking care of. It was loud and fun and definitely has enough space for all of your friends. I got the wings with a dry rub, and then the other half was with a wet sauce. The wings were tasty, soft, and delicious! I also got one of their holiday drinks for New Year's Eve, and that also was quite delicious! The price of everything was reasonable, and the server was fast to get us our check and also ring is out when we were ready to go. Would definitely go back! ”

“ Wanted to try something new so a friend recommended this spot. Tony Locos has a nice array of foods to pick from that go from Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese to Tostadas. We started out with the chips and queso. The queso was not a traditional tasting queso and not my favorite but was fine for a starter. We decided to go with the Coconut shrimp tacos and the Double Cheeseburger for our meals and everything came out hot and pretty fast. The burger had a brioche bun which was key for the ratio of 8oz. of meat and two slices of cheese. I really liked the burger and my friends loved the coconut shrimp tacos. They all looked beautiful and not greasy at all. We all got house Margaritas and they were mostly mixers and didn't taste any tequila. The Pineapple Upside Down drink is delicious but again didn't have much alcohol in it. We had many different servers and staff members helping to bring food and clear our table which was nice to meet so many different people. The bar manager even came over to personally ask how our drinks were which I thought was a great customer service point. Overall, I would come back and recommend this place for mostly American food with a great atmosphere. Oh and they had live music around 8pm. ”
